About Village Market
Village Market is a specialty food store in San Francisco, California. It is listed at One Ferry Building, Ferry Bldg #29, San Francisco, CA 94111, which places it among the local businesses of San Francisco that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.
Store size varies enormously, from a small corner grocery with a few aisles to a full supermarket chain location in San Francisco with a bakery, seafood counter and food court under one roof. Sales and promotions are often posted in-store or in a weekly flyer rather than online, so prices listed on a website may be out of date. Seafood markets sell live and on-ice product and can usually clean or prepare fish on request for a small fee. Specialty food stores in California may focus narrowly on one category, like a butcher, a rice and dry goods shop, or an import store, so calling ahead to confirm stock for a specific item saves a wasted trip.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. Typical hours are 10 amβ6:30 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Village Market at (415) 989-9200; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.
With 4.2 out of 5 on Google from 68 reviews, it sits in the middle of the range for specialty food stores in San Francisco. Recent reviews are the best guide.
San Francisco is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and San Francisco follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Very friendly staff. Good selection of novelty groceries to take home and cook. Dried pastas, cheeses etc.. I however came for snacks and some interesting beers. The staff member was very knowledgeable about local micro brew beers and suggested some that I enjoyed very much. I recommend stopping by here for a look.

Rotten cheese and added credit card fee without warning. I was excited to try a new place in the Ferry Building and get some cheeses and snacks for the evening. When I opened one of the cheeses an hour after purchase, I found out it was rancid. Also when we were checking out, the cashier said total $54, but then we were charged $56 because of an unannounced credit card fee. If I had known about the fee, I would have used a different form of payment. Overall, Iβd give two stars because the other items were reasonably priced for the Ferry Building. But the rotten cheese and undisclosed fee left a bad impression.

On Saturdayβs they have the best bamboliniβs. Pistachio, Nutella and Raspberry are my favourites.

My spouse and I both have an obsession with hardcore licorice, not just salty licorice but very heavily concentrated bitter licorice that tastes like youβre biting into the root raw and leaves an aftertaste for hours. So glad I found the OG Italian selection - Amarilli here. Weβre not partial to licorice from a particular brand or country but we do like the concentrated stuff, which is very hard to come by here in the States. Please keep stocking them!!!!

Unfriendly owner and charged extra fee without noticing the customer in advance if you use a credit card.
